Senior assassin postponed

Though Senior Assassin is currently postponed, Henry Stenner ‘20 is taking this time off to improve his game play methods and anticipates an arrival back to school where he can utilize his skills in hopes of winning the Senior Assassin title.

I’m most looking forward to continuing my assassin journey and legacy as a quick-witted, aggressive yet stealthy killer,” Stenner said. “It was really fun to be stealthy and tactical to take out your target and feel the adrenaline rush of the kill or the stun as you figured out your assassin and had to defend yourself or simply avoid them.”

In total, 310 students signed up to play Senior Assassin this year, and there are currently 39 students left in the game, ref of the game Chris Clarke ‘20 said.

This year, the refs, Clarke, Jacki Duffy ‘20 and Will Stamatakos ‘20, decided the game would be played with spoons rather than markers because they wanted to go back to the original ways, Duffy said.

“Even though markers are easier to show proof that you hit your target, last year, videos were posted of people attacking each other with markers on the neck and getting into bad fights over it,” Duffy said. “With markers your room to hit your target becomes smaller, but with spoons you have a bigger range.”

If students return to school, the game will resume the same way it did previously. Students will be allowed to contact their target with their spoon in the school building before or after school, during passing periods and on Saturdays. More rules can be found on the Senior Assassin Instagram page, @lt_assassin.

I love senior assassins because it just makes school more fun,” Clarke said. “You are excited to compete in a school-wide game and hide and kill players. School can be boring and stressful sometimes, and this is just another way to get away from that and bring more fun into school.”
