On Feb. 5, 2025, eight athletes gathered in the NC Vaughan Gym for the second signing day of the year. These athletes were recognized for their commitment to continue their athletic careers in college.
First to sign was Declan Vahey ‘25, who committed to swim at Division III Gustavus Adolphus College Saint Peter, Minn.
“I went to an overnight visit [at Gustavus Adolphus], and I really liked the coaches and the other swimmers,” Vahey said.
Next to sign was Tyler Kirk ‘25, who will be attending St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis., to continue his baseball career at the Division III level.
“[I’m looking forward to] hanging out with my good friend and meeting the baseball team,” Kirk said.
Also signing to St. Norbert College, Bobby Vespa ‘25 will be continuing his academic and basketball career.
“St. Norbert felt really homey to me when I went there,” Vespa said. “Especially with the coaches, they made me feel very welcome. It’s a very good team and organization they have there and a very good school education-wise.”
Following Vespa, Daniela Bojovic ‘25 signed to continue playing soccer at Division III Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
“I’m excited to make new friendships and to keep playing the sport I love,” Bojovic said.
Starting the slew of football players, Mack Long ‘25 signed to play at the Division I University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa.
“I chose Penn because it was very good with academics, and it felt like home,” Long said.
Following Long, Cooper Komsthoeft ‘25 signed to continue his football career at Division III Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
“I’m excited to be on a new team with new coaches and to get to try to prove myself to a whole new coaching staff and just try to be my best in college,” Komsthoeft said.
Next, Luke Harrigan ‘25 also signed to play football at Division III Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill.
“It’s a great school, and I wanted to keep playing football,” Harrigan said.
Rounding out the event, Shane Harris ‘25 signed to Division III Denison University in Granville, OH, to continue his football career.
“I’m just really looking forward to my new season,” Harris said. “I’m really grateful to sign today.”
Senior athletes continuing their athletic careers in college will have one more opportunity to sign on April 16.
