It’s almost November, meaning that all the political campaigning we’ve had to endure for the last couple of months will be coming to an end. This article will explain presidential candidate Donald J. Trump’s main policy positions.
Trump’s economic plan is based on what he claims he will do. This is what he has promised he will do: end inflation, lower interest rates, and deport illegal immigrants to ease pressure on housing. Additionally, if elected, he said he will raise the tariffs on imported goods to 20% and even more on Chinese imported goods. He proposed multiple tax cuts, including adding on to his 2017 cuts for the wealthy. In the past, Trump said he would pay for them by doubling the tariffs on imports.
For his immigration policies, Trump has vowed to complete the construction of the wall to seal the border, increase law enforcement in the region, and conduct the biggest mass deportation of undocumented migrants in U.S. history.
If elected, Trump will create a more isolationist foreign policy. He wants the U.S. to no longer be a factor in conflicts around the world; he has claimed he will end the war in both Ukraine and Gaza but has not yet provided a plan as to how.
Additionally, Trump vowed to expand Arctic drilling and put limitations on electric cars. The policies will be similar to those of his last presidency when he rolled back environmental protections such as limiting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and vehicles.
Trump has promised he will eliminate crime, destroy drug cartels, stop gang violence, and lower the crime rate in cities.
His position on abortion has been unclear the last couple weeks, even though he was a significant reason as to why Roe v. Wade was overturned as he appointed 3 justices who voted on the case.
For climate, Trump has vowed to expand Arctic drilling and put limitations on electric cars. Similar policies to his last presidency, where he rolled back environmental protections like limiting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and vehicles.
Trump promised for healthcare that he would not dismantle the Affordable Care Act and wants tax-payer funded fertility treatments.
These are all of Trump’s official positions and policies that he has stated. Project 2025 was not added because Donald Trump has officially stated he is not involved in it. However, it should be noted that over 140 former Trump employees currently work with Project 2025. For those of you who don’t know, Project 2025 is a conservative think tank that created policies to set up in place for the next republican president.
Trump has many of the same policies as well as some different ones compared to his 2016 presidency.
