Whether as a snack, an appetizer, or a main meal, chicken wings have always been a staple in American cuisine. Wing Snob, located at 10350 Roosevelt Rd. in Westchester, is a restaurant chain that serves wings and various other comfort foods with unique sauces that make their wings all the more popular.
Upon walking into the restaurant I immediately noticed the decorated interior, with black-painted walls, a red and white LED sign with the Wing Snob logo, and their signature cartoon chicken painted on the wall nearest to the entrance. I also made note of the few seating areas offered in the restaurant, as there was only one table with four chairs to sit in as well as four high chairs lined along the window. The seating arrangements made it clear to me that Wing Snob was more of a place meant to carry out food, rather than sit and enjoy it inside the restaurant.
Given that I had arrived at Wing Snob around 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday night, the restaurant was mostly empty, with only a few customers stopping in to pick up their orders. Gazing at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised at the numerous options of sauces and rubs, including their Lemon Pepper sauce and Garlic Parm sauce. Their menu didn’t just offer boneless or bone-in wings, they offered chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, award-winning loaded fries, delicious sides, combo meals, and even cauliflower wings, a vegetarian option.
I decided to order the traditional six piece combo ($13.99) with the buffalo sauce, consisting of six bone-in wings, a medium fountain drink, and a side of fries and coleslaw. I thought the price was fair given the amount of food that was offered in the combo as well as a drink, however, I did have to pay an extra $1.29 for a small side of ranch. After about 15 minutes of waiting, my food came out.
Biting into the wings I was immediately hit with the flavorful buffalo sauce. The sauce was spicy, but not completely overpowering, allowing me to enjoy every bite. The wings maintained a traditional texture, with the chicken practically falling off the bone. I was quite impressed with the amount of flavor in such a traditional and popular sauce. The fries were also packed with flavor. These straight cut fries had a salt and pepper seasoning that added to the surplus of flavors in the wings and I found that they paired nicely together.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors present in the wings and fries, this classic meal is something everyone can enjoy. However, I do wish the interior had a few more seating options available, as I would have loved to eat these wings within the restaurant’s atmosphere. If you’re looking for classic chicken wings with diverse flavors, I highly recommend you visit Wing Snob.
