Pilar’s playlists edition 1

Pilar Valdes, Assistant Pulse Editor

Hey everyone! My name is Pilar, and I really like music. I also really like making playlists.

I pride myself in having a pretty expansive music taste, and I am always open to suggestions. To help you get to know my music taste, here is a list of some of my all time favorite songs (in no particular order):

  1. Vienna, Billy Joel
  2. Things Happen, Dawes
  3. Dreams, Fleetwood Mac
  4. Dance Yrself Clean, LCD Soundsystem
  5. All Too Well, Taylor Swift
  6. Finish Line, Chance the Rapper
  7. Do you Believe in Magic, The Lovin Spoonful
  8. Shut up Kiss Me, Angel Olsen
  9. Pulaski at Night, Andrew Bird
  10. When I’m Sixty Four, The Beatles

For the first edition of this blog, I will be featuring my latest playlist on Spotify “still got lightning in me.” The vibe for this playlist is the feeling you get deep in your stomach when you’re driving with all the windows down, blasting music and the wind blowing in your hair. For me, that feels like lightning because I can practically feel electricity shooting through me. I tried to bring in a mix of new and old music across all genres; it’s a pretty short playlist, but very easy to dance to– which is always a bonus.

Favorite song on the playlist: Dog Days Are Over, Florence and the Machine

Hidden Gem: Inside Out, Spoon

Artist to watch for: Dirty and the Dishes, they’re a band of LT alumni, whose music is full of upbeat street rock vibes. My brother is also the bassist, which makes me a little biased.
