On Nov. 13, 11 athletes signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level in the NC Vaughan Gym.
First to sign was Nora Ezike ‘25, who is continuing her basketball career at Division I Stanford University next year.
“[Stanford was my] dream school because of the combination of great academics and great athletics, [and it’s] a great school with a great track record,” Ezike said. “When I first got my offer, I really enjoyed every conversation I had with the coaches. The program, in general, was a good fit.”
Following Ezike was Colin Schertz ‘25, who signed to swim at DII Quincy University.
“I wanted to continue doing something that I loved and that I’m passionate [about],” Schertz said.
Next was Grainne Kristufek ‘25, continuing her lacrosse career at the Division II level at Rockhurst University.
“I really love it [at Rockhurst] because they have everything I’ve wanted in a school and my major, and the girls on the team are so nice,” Kristufek said. “I’m just really excited.”
Also continuing her lacrosse career, Ashley Culin ‘25 signed to DI Eastern Michigan University.
“I’m looking forward to just being a part of the team and the culture,” Culin said. “I’m really excited to play lacrosse at the next level.”
Continuing her volleyball career at the Division III level, Katherine Badrov ‘25 signed to Carthage College.
“[Carthage] hit all my criteria,” Badrov said. “I wanted to go to an education school [where] I could still play volleyball, and I wanted to be somewhat close to home but also far enough that I felt independent enough. The girls, the coaches, and the school overall just made my decision really easy compared to everyone else.”
Then, Mia Graziano ‘25 signed to Division III St. Mary’s College to continue her tennis career.
“I’m really looking forward to building a better team environment and meeting a lot of new people,” Graziano said.
Following Graziano, Caroline Mortonson ‘25 signed to continue her soccer career at the Division I level at Miami University of Ohio.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and playing my sport at a different level,” Mortonson said.
Next, Ella Jean Kelly ‘25 signed to the University of Iowa to continue her swimming career at the Division I level.
“I’m so excited to swim under these new coaches that I’ve talked with for the past year and that I’ve developed a really good relationship with,” Kelly said. “I’m also excited to be with a whole new group of girls that I get to train with in a beautiful pool.”
Also continuing her swimming career at the DI level, Audrey Cavaliere ‘25 signed to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
“I chose to swim at U of I because it reminds me a lot of high school swimming and is big on a team atmosphere, and I think will be an immediate sense of family,” Cavaliere said. “I also love U of I as a school itself.”
Following Cavaliere, Lauren Jablonski ‘25 signed to Division I Bowling Green State University to swim as well.
“I chose Bowling Green because when I visited, it felt like the right place to go,” Jablonski said. “The coaches were amazing, and all the girls were extremely welcoming and supportive.”
Then, Tucker King ‘25 signed to the University of Cincinnati to continue playing baseball at the Division I level.
“I chose Cincinnati because of how family-type it felt,” King said. “The campus was really perfect, everything was close to each other, and it was super easy to be there. I felt like that was the best situation for me, and I just belonged there right away.”
Finally, Maya Mladjan ‘25 signed to Division I University of Michigan to continue her water polo career.
“I’m really excited to experience the community there, and my sister also goes there, so I’m really excited to see my sister,” Mladjan said.
There are two more opportunities for senior athletes to sign: Feb. 5 and Apr. 16.
