When you think of a town like LaGrange and Western Springs, it can be hard to conceive that food insecurity is an issue impacting people in our communities. Regardless of our perceptions, however, food insecurity is an issue some in our school community do have to deal with.

The LION delved deep into this issue for the National Public Radio Student Podcast Contest. We asked: why do affluent communitieslike the one many LT students live inneed to have food pantries?
